I absolutely loved this book as a young girl. I read it numerous times and in fact I still have it but it is yellowed with years and shows it's age. This is truly a heartwarming story of a family full of love.

This book was so inspiring to me! The Doss family grew by leaps and bounds until they numbered a dozen kids, a preacher & his wife. Theirs is the true international family, as many of the children were of mixed Asian cultures in a post-World War II world. They adopted children that were considered "unadoptable" by the agencies that housed them. But, Helen and her husband were willing to give them love and a secure home though they had little money or worldly goods. It was a fast read, but so enjoyable!
