As expected, I loved this book. Erma Bombeck had a great way of looking at life and all it's trials and tribulations. This is a must read for anyone who has children. Just when you think you can't take another "Why do I have to do it?", you can laugh about it after reading this book. A good laugh out loud book. I wish Erma was still around to impart her hilarious wisdom on life. And I wish I had her attitude!
Brilliant, funny and timeless. The wisdom and wit of Irma Bombeck will surely live forever through this book! I could see my own family reflected in the descriptions of her family and that made this even more endearing!
Erma Bombeck tells it like it is and she is just so funny.
Super cute witty realistic look at life, kids, family and mariage. I enjoyed it completely.
Great Erma Bombeck humor... right up with her typical style and graces!
Another great book by the late author, Erma Bombeck. Hilarious stories about her and her family.
Very funny look at the great American tradition - Family and how it's changed.
The one-and-only Erma Bombeck at her best. Prepare to identify with her and to laugh uproariously.
Erma's terse wit and humorous insight shed new light on what 'family' means.
From enduring the 'family vacation' cross country in a car with kids ("Are we there yet?" is coming from the parents this time) to dealing with the leftovers that nobody wants to eat... Erma takes a look at the daily and yearly grind of living together as a family.
Written in 1987, Erma takes no prisoners in her funny dialogs on topics such as her son's college class choices (Is There Life after Lunch 101); energy and water budgeting (yes, twenty years ago, it was an issue!); physical fitness (how to fake jogging)Christmas wish lists based on the shopping channels... True confessions of the kids about grade school- and much more.
AT the least, this book will remind you of the simpler years and allow you to laugh at your own family history- and the best possibility is that it will re-open memories to be shared and (yes!) treasured from your family's experiences.
Laugh out loud funny tales of family life by one of America's best humorist. Enjoyed this bk immensely.
Very funny book. I never appreciated Bombeck before ( I thought she was before my time) but now that I've read her work, she left me in stitches. I could totally relate to her 'family" stories.
Bombeck is just so funny. Even as a teenager I laughed. Now that I actually get the jokes, I laugh harder.
A hilarious look at family life through the eyes of one of the best humour writers of our time. I loved it!
I was disappointed with this book. I remember reading her column in the newspaper when I ws a teenager and enjoying it, but it seemed that there was more complaining about her family than anything positive.
Erma Bombeck as always gives us a good laugh at ourselves. This book is about families and shows you the funny side of things.
If you're an Erma Bombeck fan - this is a must.
Very funny book. This is taken from the time in her life when all children were out of the house, but came home for a Christmas visit.
This is SUCH a funny book by a truely funny lady. She totally relates the truth of family in a humorous and touching way.
Very Funny book! I loved it. Read it very quickly!
Hilarious book for any age range!
Classic Erma Bombeck! She tells of the joys and troubles of family, great and humorous read!
A really funny book that gets you looking at your own family in a different light!
"Class rings are what are lost before your check clears the bank."
I read some of this on the subway, thirty years after publication, and found it entertaining yet today.
