I just stumbled upon a delightful novel, written for young adults, but it is a lush read for adults too: The China Garden by Liz Berry. If you were delighted by Garden Spells, then I think you would be delighted by this book as well! If you like a well-written, mystical tale with a dash of romance, steeped with a centuries-old mystery, wrapped up in the English countryside, then this is the book for you!

I will quote from the review by Publishers Weekly, because they say it so much better than I could: "Like a jewel box with hidden drawers and compartments, this finely crafted, multilayered novel holds many secrets...Berry builds a setting and atmosphere richly laden with mystery and suspense, in which the ordinary often makes unexpected interconnections and the extraordinary is natural to the story's wildly imagined terrain."

Other PBSers have also raved about this book in their reviews, so check it out! I just loved it!

Thank you.  Garden Spells just arrived yesterday.  And this book sounds like something I'd love to share with my granddaughter.
