When I was a young girl - probably between the ages of 8 - 12 - this was one of my absolute favorite books. Considering I've ended up in fashion design, it may have been a heavy influence on me...who knows? I'll miss it when it leaves me but I practically know the story by heart, having read it so much back in the day.

This is the story of four girls who have been selected out of millions to become interns at Image, one of the leading magazines for teenage girls. There's Robin, the photography intern, who finds time for love in New York City between her photo shoots; Annie, who struggles with her weight but never lets it get her down; Ashley, the fiery fashion intern who never quite leaves trouble behind; and Torey, the intern who is practically perfect. The summer they spend together is an opportunity to live and learn in New York City, fashion capital of the United States.
