A standalone book focusing on FBI agent and kidnap recovery specialist Alexa Keen, a character first seen in John Ramsey Miller's most excellent Winter Massey series. In this story, Keen finds herself in New Orleans with Hurricane Katrina approaching, trying to unravel a kidnap mystery involving one of the city's most respected and richest families.
Great characterization. You might need a scorecard for this one to keep track of a plethora of characters ranging from the high society to the lowest of the low and what happens when the two meet to create their on storm of lies, deceit, murder and more. An excellent read.
This is a very good thriller. The author writes a strong crime thriller, filled with plenty of guts and heart!
Great book and a fast read.
In the Crescent City (New Orleans) as a deadly hurricane gathers force, the killing has already begun. Alexa Keen, FBI Agent, is thrown into a generational mystery that will confound the best sleuths.
Great Crime Thriller!!!!!! (with Hurricane Katrina background)
Book is a bit slow, but does have good intrigue.
A good fast read. Lots of twists and turns.
I started reading this book one evening and finished reading it by noon the next day. It kept my interest.
Too slow, too wordy, too many descriptions and explanations, by half way I was bored and just didn't care anymore about any of them
