Grammer tells the story of his life, a life filled with tragedy, heartbreak and triumph: the murder of his father and sister, addiction to drugs and alcohol and his Emmy Award-winning sitcom. The book is laced with behind-the-scenes tidbits from his hit shows. Grammer reads his story with his characteristic precise pronunciation and careful diction. His pacing is good as his voice skillfully conveys the emotion of each episode.

I liked the book. There was stuff I knew about Kelsey and stuff I didn't know. Does anybody know if Kelsey has another book out? This only covers up to the pilot of Fraiser.

I have always enjoyed Kelsey Grammer and found his writing to be without the usual artifice and bragging found in many celebrity autobiographies.

How refreshing it was to read his story! He was candid in relating his mistakes and clearly didn't feel the need to dramatize them or garner sympathy. I know if I met him I'd like him.

Incidentally, the book design was brilliantly engineered. I appreciated the fact that it was planned carefully with a distinctively simple and clean style throughout.

Everyone who has ever watched television, probably knows of the series Cheers, and of its successful spin-off, Frasier, where the Emmy Award-winning actor Kelsey Grammer played the role of psychiatrist Frasier Crane. What may not be so well-known to the public is more about the star's personal life. In a story that is provocative, heartwarming and hysterical, Kelsey Grammer finally sets the record straight on his often painful yet always uplifting life. Behind-the-scenes stories from his professional life makes Kelsey Grammer's personal story both highly entertaining and supremely insightful.

I must say that I knew little of Kelsey Grammer's life before I read his autobiography. I knew only of his substance abuse, and was vaguely aware of some of the loss he experienced. I had absolutely no idea that Kelsey Grammer had actually experienced such overwhelming tragedy in life.

Anyway, I found this book to be very well-written - very engaging, enlightening and humorous. I was quickly immersed in the author's story because of his easy writing style. I give this book an A+!
