Indeed. It's true. And it's true (incontrovertible) that saturated fat is a primary nutrient, along with water and protein, out of which our genetically-programmed metabilism "makes" healthy cells, body tissues, biochmicals required for metabolism, and enables life. (This is a grossly simplified description.)

Dr.Ezrin, a research endocrinologist, discusses how our bodies function, what our bodies require to be healthy, and why. Ignore the "meal plan". Who requires help fixing a piece of meat, or an egg (or several eggs) and a salad?

Health is fairly easy to achieve if we do as our genetically-programmed biochemistry requires, but cannot happen without the right information.

From amazon reviewers:
This is a scientifically based book by an author with unmatched credentials. As an endocrinologist, Dr. Ezrin can explain the reason behind ongoing carbohydrate cravings and the basis for lifelong weight loss. The book is easy to read and the recipes are good. I personally know people who have followed this diet with enormous success. (shouldn't be called a "diet" which implies temporary; must be done for a lifetime. smr)

and

I've been overweight all my life but this book has me well on my way to better things. I've tried low fat and it never worked. This book spoke to me with authority and intelligence explaining the connection between carbs, insulin, water and fat retention and seretonin levels. I see now why I and so many of my family members are carb junkies. Within a few days I saw unexpectedly rapid results. There's a "wall" you go through after a day or two but once on the other side, low carb eating feels normal and the results are great both physically and emotionally. Give this book an honest try and you will know within a week whether it's right for you!
