I love all of his Xanth books. They're innocent but fun.

The beautiful cover art is the only good thing about this book. I loved the early books of the Xanth world, but this one leaves a lot to be desired.

In this, the twenty-first of the Xanth series, Forrest Faun embarks on a mission to find a suitable replacement for his friend: Branch Faun, who fell into the Void, while chasing a nymph. Forrest discovers he will need to leave Xanth and travel to Ptero, the moon orbiting Princess Ida's head. The Good Magician assigns Mare Imbrium as his guide, since she is the only one who has ever been to the tiny world....
This is a good story, with a lot of activity, which takes the reader to a new aspect of this very punny series. But, for some reason, I was nonplussed. It seemed like the author was taking a momentary pause, to catch his literary breath and to cram in as many fan-suggested puns as possible.....
However, it hasn't dissuaded me from continuing the series :o)
