"Stanley Does Atlantic City." Sort of. If you are a Stanley Hastings fan, I need say no more. If you aren't, well get with the program! Parnell Hall rocks.

Stanley Hastings is just too nice. When he hears the words, "I need a favor", he is a sucker. This is how he gets into big trouble in Atlantic City when his sort-of friend, MacAuliff says he needs a favor. Two dead bodies, unsure who are the good guys and who are the bad guys, Hastings bumbles along and unwittingly helps police. Funny as usual!

Third of the Stanley Hastings mysteries this is a fast-moving and quick reading story with lots of dialogue and further development of the interesting characters that continue in the long series--still being written with the release of Caper in 2010. Stanley ends up in Atlantic City reluctantly and ineptly getting involved with the mob and a blackmail scheme on behalf of Sgt. MacAullif. Mayhem follows. I love this series and will be looking for the books I have missed. Bobbi Myers
