On the profile page, somehow a totally strange group of authors is assigned as my favorites. Even when I edit, and remove them, they pop back up when I exit the profile page and then go back in. This is annoying, since (as far as I can tell) these are random choices, and they might include authors for whom I have a barely lukewarm reaction. I don't necessarily want to add "favorite authors," certainly not as many as there are slots , as a tactic to block PBS putting names in. Maybe I should put in a disclaimer where I can add text....Hey, ignore these; they're not my real favorites--they've been "ghosted in." |

Pam - You can edit your privacy controls so the 'Favorite Authors' don't show to other people. If you go to Settings, click on Privacy Controls and scroll down to the Profile section, you can change it to 'Only Me' meaning that only you can see that. (If you click on my profile, you shouldn't see that section there.) Now, the problem is that you will still see that section when you click on your profile. If you don't add any of your favorite authors, the systems fills it out by default (I don't remember right now what is the criteria.) I'm not sure what it's that way...like you, I'd like to decide whether my favorite authors show up on my profile or not but that's not available at this time. We should just contact the Team and send them some feedback about this. They don't read the forums so the only way for them to know is for us to let them know directly. I have mine set so nobody can see it because of the same thing. I was cracking up at what it had listed as my favorite authors. It was a bunch of authors of books I had listed, many of them because I DID NOT like them. Dr. Phil my favorite? Not so much. |

And even when one DOES take the time to list favorite authors, the only thing that shows up is the first author on the list anyway. =( |
