Is their a way to keep track of bookshelves that I like? I have found a person who has alot of the books I like but I don't have the amount of credits. or I'd like to know when a sender posts new books on their shelf, is there a way to do that?

I don't want to be intrusive and "friend" this person as they don't know me from Adam and I don't want to know all about them, just the books they have.wink

I don't think it would be at all out of line to send the person a PM, asking persmission to "friend" them, stating your reason.  In fact, it might be flattering to the person receiving the request.  If it were me, I'd be happy that somebody was looking at my bookshelf!

A lot of us friend others for that exact reason, to remember their shelves.

I agree--I wouldn't find it intrusive.  Just send a PM asking if they'd mind if you add them as a friend because you like their shelf and probably would like to order from them in the future when you have credits.  Worst thing that could happen is that for some reason, they'd say "no".

You could also ask for a deal.. Explain you have a few credits, and they have many books you'd like. Offer the deal, do not make it seem like it's an ultimatum.

And send a friend request.

After you send them a pm place it in your archives.  That's what I do when I like a shelf and want to be able to find it fast.

  • Using tags:
    • Making a Tag:
      • Click the Manage Tags link at the top of Friends page (or choose Manage Tags from the menu at the top right of the page--the default view is Tag Actions)
      • Type your tag text into the box for "Add a New Tag"
      • Click
    • Applying or removing a Tag
      • Check the box next to any Friends you want to apply a tag to or remove a tag from
      • Click Tag Actions (default view) in the menu at the top right of Friends page
      • Choose the tag you want to apply from the list under the heading Apply Tag in the dropdown menu, or
      • Choose the tag you want to remove from the list under the heading Remove Tag in the dropdown menu
      • There is no limit to the number of tags you can apply to a Friend.
  • Sorting tags
    • On your Friends, click in the box after View Tag Group at the top of the page

      • Choose the tag group you want to view from the menu that drops down
      • This will show you only those Friends who have that tag applied. The others will be hidden. To switch to another group, choose another one from the View Tag Group box again. To go back to your unsorted Friends, click "View all Friends" at the top of the page.
