I wasn't paying attention when I ordered this book; I thought it was part travel memoir. If you are traveling to Asia, going to new Asian restaurants, or got a new Asian cookbook, this might be of help. However, if you frequent the any of the following cuisines, you won't need this book because you've already experienced the food and don't need further explanations: Japanese, Thai, Korean, Laotian, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Malay.
