Good thriller that while older holds up well. Interesting and likeable protagonist.

Professor, a full time anthropologist, part-timedetective, and brand new visiting fellow at Heidleberg University. Even though two previous occupants of his chair both died under mysterious circumstances, he's eagerly looking forward to his new position.

In a deadly game of murder and spy vs. spy, he's about to become a most important target. He won't know the rules. He'll have very little besides his considerable intellectual powers to help him. And he'll be playing for some fairly high stakes.
