Good Resource For "Card Meanings", December 3, 1998
Reviewer: A reader

I think many people overlook this helpful little book due to it's title. A Feminist Tarot as a title seems to make mainstream readers feel there is nothing to be gained here. NOT SO. The reason I like this book so much is it is one of the only Tarot books I have ever seen that takes the "traditional" or "standard" meanings to the Tarot Cards which were mostly established around or before the 1930s and puts those meanings along side the authors contemporary interpretations. The result is a great little snapshot on each card that gives you an idea of the very different places the images on the cards can leave you. If you want to work with book meanings this is the way to go since you can quickly and easily get two VERY different interpretations. This book also has some very succinct and logical information on the History of Tarot, and provides an historical outlook often overlooked by Tarot enthusiasts. Definitely worth keeping as a reference for the serious Tarot Student, or the student who wants to know "what the cards should mean."
