An easy, quick, and enjoyable read. This was a simple story about a struggling writer and teacher and about the conflicting relationship she has with her mother. Aspiring writers may enjoy doing the writing assignments along with the fiction class in the book.

This book was awesome. Informative and interesting if you have ever thought about becoming a writer, and touching and thought provoking if you have ever become frustrated with a difficult mother/daughter relationship. There is hope and there is love!!!!

A goodwill find that I am excited to pass onto my mom. This was a good read that happily fit into the challenge I am doing on Goodreads - read something about school.

I absolutely loved the layout and how the story unfolded in the book. Wrapped around the class and weekly visits to a nursing home to visit her mom, the main character Arabella is someone I could envision with such clarity.

It was a short little read, but packed inside was a beautiful story of a mother and a daughter learning in their last days how each one coped with the life they were handed. It made me want to make sure I hadn't wasted any moments with my family and to make sure that future ones were hard to forget.

I would pass this book along to all the women in my life - not sure the men would enjoy this one!

Breen pretty well takes the easy way out in this by-the-numbers novel about a young woman struggling with her unfinished novel and an unresolved relationship with her mother. It's no surprise that she finds the answers to both as she teaches a fiction class for adults.

"A heartwarming story for anyone who loves book, or has a difficult mother. And, let's face it, that is practically everybody...'' (from the back cover--I think this is a good description).
