This has to be one of my favorite books that I go back to time and again. There's a surprise ending that will take your breath away. The love scenes are perfect. The book is primarily about the journey they take after she is captured. That, in my opinion, is exactly what you want in a romance novel: time alone with just him and her. Believe it or not, this is the only Judith E. French novel that I own. I have tried her other stuff, but she just never came close to writing like this again,

The white man's cruelties have hardened the heart of Fire Talon. And now his honored father is in their hands, forcing the handsome Delaware war chief to take a captive of his own. She is called Rebecca, the beautiful, untouched bride of his most hated foe - as pure as the heaven's sweet rain, a priceless treasure from far across the great sea. Though, at first, she hates and fears him, Talon can feel her need - and he, in turn, is wounded by his own. For a powerful passion unites them - a raging fire that sears their souls, urging a proud, tormented warrior to care once more...and awakening the slumbering sensuality of a brave, indomitable woman who must risk her immortal soul to experience what love can truly be.
