This book is based on the screenplay for the feature movie. The screenplay is by Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz, but adapted for book form by Elizabeth Hand. Given to me by a friend moving out of state, I'll be using this to fill in missing books in other series for a Readers for the Future program.

Nothing can compare to the movie itself, of course, but I was so impatient that I ran out and bought this before I even saw it. A great novelization, with high-quality color pictures inside.

The novelization of the film based on "The X-Files" television series, written by series creator Chris Carter. While investigating a mysterious bombing, agents Mulder and Scully begin to uncover evidence of a conspiracy that reaches farther than any government. A plot hatched by a shadowy organization known only as The Project is about to reach completion and, if that is allowed to happen, the future of the entire human race will be forever changed.

OK, so they're not filming X-File episodes in Vancover any more, or showing them on TV--but we can still enjoy reading them. Here's a good one!

From back cover: Beneath the tranquil surface of a North Texas town, the future of the human race awaits...
After forty years, members of the global conspiracy known only as 'The Project' are finally nearing the completion of their plans. Only FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully have a glimpse of the nightmare that lies ahead for the rest of the world: an alien invasion fueled by the most devastating virus in human history. And only they know that the Truth isn't out there anymore--It's already here.
