Author: Robert W. Felix
Forget global warming. The next ice age could begin any day. Beginning with the dinosaur extinction of 65 million years ago, Not by Fire but by Ice explores the relationship between mass extinctions, ice ages, and geomagnetic reversals (times when compasses would have pointed south instead of north).

I think he enjoys being contrarian. His arguments that an asteroid had nothing to do with dinosaur extinction isn't very persuasive. He has a rather glib style that dooesn't go over well with me. You got to hand it to him, it's been 15 years since he came out with this "cult classic", and he's still (as of May this year) arguing that the glaciers are actually growing, in the face of mounting evidence that the earth is getting warmer.
