I have a hardcover copy of The Fires of Heaven by Robert Jordan (ISBN 0312854277).  I got it used, and it must be a book club edition or something, because it's not a full-sized hardcover.  It's 8 1/2" by 5 3/4" instead of 9 1/2" by 6 1/2".  So I'm not going to post it because if I wanted the full-sized hardcover, I'd be disappointed to get this in the mail even though it has the same ISBN.  It's in good condition, so I'm hoping someone will want it for a credit.  And if it's against the rules to ask for a credit for this, can someone with more experience let me know?

In my experience, book club editions do NOT have ISBN's in them listed anywhere, and so i have had to post all of my book club finds as without ISBN. I sent out a hardcover Fires Of Heaven a while back, your edition is probably wish listed as well!

To my knowledge, books, even hardcovers, come in all sizes. I'd post it if i were you! I bet it's on wish list hold the second you do!

I don't know why you'd be disappointed to get a book that was a particular size... i am sure if someone is Wish Listing a certain ISBN for a keeper book, they know which one they want!

I have the full-sized one, too, and they both have the same ISBN.  And I was disappointed when I got it after ordering online, becuase it looked out of place on the same shelf as the others in the series which were all an inch taller.  So I don't want someone else to feel the same.  But maybe if there's no interest here, I can post it and then PM whoever requests it before actually sending it out.

Ah okay... sorry, for some reason i read that wrong. I assumed you had one copy but it looked too small to be full-sized. I didn't realize you were comparing books.

Chris - go ahead and post it. If someone doesn't want a Book Club Edition, they should have a Requestor Condition stating that.  BCEs are acceptable and very common here. I always know there is a good chance on getting a BCE when I order a hardcover, I've actually come to expect it on the newer books and am surprised when I get a full size version. If you post it and don't see an RC, then you should be just fine sending the book.  You can PM about it, but I wouldn't recommend it. Seems to set incorrect expectations on some new members when they get PMs about perfectly acceptable issues. It would probably be better to post it and then send it whether you PM or not since it is against the Book Bazaar rules to offer WLed books.

Tracey - it seems that almost all BCEs are issued with the same ISBN as the full version these days. WLing an ISBN does not guarantee you a certain size book. People who are wanting a specific size will usually add the RC asking for the full size version.

Melanie is correct about BCE's and their ISBN numbers.  In the "olden" days, BCE didn't have ISBNs, but they do now, and they are usually the same ISBN.  (I catalog books at my library)

Personally, I wouldn't care as long as it was a hardcover.  I'd post it too.

Thanks, everyone, for clearing it up for me.  I'll go ahead and post it.
