I posted in a prevous thread but realized my questions was the opposite issue so I reposted here.

I received my first book that should be marked RWAP.   : (    There is spine seperation/showing of 1 and 1/2 inches in one section and the page is torn and seperating as well.

This is my first RWAP and I am wondering how I want to proceed.  The book is wishlisted and likely I could have read and reposted for someone else but that will not be the case since it does not meet PBS guidelines.  So I am trying to figure out how RWAP works.  I feel obligated to mark it so as others have pointed out we need to help/remind people of the criteria for posting books.  I am not sure I would request a credit back as it is readable and I am sure it was an honest mistake or happened in transit.

I am just frustrated as I just went through a box of books the night before last and opted on the careful side and placed a good number in the unpostable pile.   Urgghhh!

If this has happened to you, how did you handle it?

Also when you select RWAP what info from your response is for the system and what is forwarded on to the sender.  I am wondering if an additional PM is necessary?

I would mark it RWP and explain why. They'll get the info. Also send a PM, explain why the book was unpostable and ask for your credit back.  Be very polite.

Don't be afraid to mark a book RWP. If it's a rare mistake for the person than your RWP will not damage their account.  Especially if they give you a credit back and you go back and mark it as resolved.  If they habitually send out bad books than your helping get them off PBS.

If I felt the book was unpostaeble I'd ask for my credit back.

When I've done that I've also sent a PM to the sender letting them know why I marked it RWAP and why I'm asking for the credit back.
