I joined a local catholic homeschool group and we met for our first field trip this weekend!  Luckily it was just a couple of minutes drive for me (about 1/2 hour for most people coming from the city near us).  We went to a pumpkin farm that had play equipment, a bounce house, a barrel train ride, a corn maze, all kinds of stuff!  The kids each got a little pumpkin to take home.  It was fun!  What kinds of field trips have you all been doing lately?

Not a field trip, but our latest HS group adventure was a Lego Robotics class for my son.  He'll attend Friday mornings in October.  He LOVED it!!!

That sounds like one hoppin' pumpkin patch!

We just returned from two weeks in Florida, a blessing from grandpa.  We of course visited the ocean, then Kennedy Space Center, Ripley's Believe it or Not (wasn't going to count that one as school until the school bus showed up with ps kids on a field trip!), Lightner Museum... I think that's it. It was a BUSY two weeks concluded with the onset of red tide in the area.

Weekly my children all go to grandma's house. She lives in the country.  This year DS has held a baby quail and a rabbit. Seen a hummingbird nest with eggs, various other nests, found Monarch eggs and watched them progress all the way to butterflies... I think there were some snakes and lizards thrown in, a praying mantis, I can't even remember what else! Grandma's house is the BEST place for field trips for us.

Oh yeah, last week we went to the Post Office-discussed the Pony Express and how to mail a letter; and the grocery store- nutrition and agriculture.  Never underestimate the the field trips around you every day.   ;-)

Oh we love Legos!  I'll have to look for something like that for DS when he's older.
