this is a collection of short stories of various first ladies, first sisters-ladies that
took on an unpaid job because a man related to them became president.
the authors did their homework, the history of the time of the lady they chose,is a reminder of what we have here today. imagine walking to the white house and ringing the bell and speaking to the president. people walking on the white house grounds, picnicing, sheep grazing things that today are not heard of. for presidents adams and monroe, there was an outhouse and it was accessable to anyone walking by.
the mysteries are made up using the time period the ladies live in. the authors were able to explain why they chose the lady they wrote about.
I found it a very enjoyable read.
