A complete grammar and writing text for those first two all-important years of study, this book uses copywork, dictation, narration, picture study and other classical techniques to develop the young student's language ability.

This scripted text leads a young child to memorization and understanding of grammar concepts through the use of narration, copywork, and dictation. This valuable resource stresses memorization first of definitions of simple grammar i.e., nouns, pronounces, verbs, etc. and lists of prepositions and more. The premise is after learning what these are and as they move into diagramming sentences, children will be able to pull from the memorized lists and definitions and able to see the parts of sentences more easily.

This has taken my 2nd grade daughter from no knowledge at all about grammar to having a solid foundation to build upon.

I've used the first half of this book this year. I like it, but it isn't a good fit for my son.
