Hello!  Can anyone tell me if these books are the first published by these authors?

Murder and the First Lady - Theodore Roosevelt

Murder in the House - Margaret Truman

Where are the Children? - Mary Higgins Clark

Thanks in advance for any help.  I love "first" books!  And I can't tell about any of these, because the "Also Written By...." lists in some books by these authors changes with every book I look at.  So I can't tell which came first.  Many thanks!

The first of these are :

Murder and the First Lady  - Elliott Roosevelt

Murder in the White House  - Margaret Truman

Where are the Children? - Mary Higgins Clark

I read all of them when they first came out and have all the other books in the series.  I read Where Are the Children? back in 1975 and can still remember that story better than I can remember something I read last week.  She doesn't write a series.  She does have some she's written with her daughter that involve the same characters and are somewhat like a series.

I loved the Eleanor Roosevelt series too.  Elliott Roosevelt had plans to write more before his death.  At one point there was discussion that the series was going to continue but the last one was finished by William Harrington in 2001.

The Margaret Truman series is a semi-series.  They do have some of the same characters in some of the books and other are more like stand alones.  It's just that they do take place in Washington, DC.  Worth reading though.

Wow, thanks Geri.  Just the answer I was hoping for.!!

I stumbled across all three books recently at a "buck-a-bag" sale at my local library, and was drawn to each just hoping each was the first one by these authors.  Many many thanks for your input!!.

You might be able to check this sort of thing out here: http://www.stopyourekillingme.com  This is a great resource for that sort of thing.  You may be aware of the site but I thought I'd put it out there anyhow!

Stephanie, you can also check on www.fantasticfiction.com   They give the dates in order along with any other books and/or pseudonyms of your favorite authors. It's my favorite go-to site!
