Based on the title of this book "Fish & Chips" I expected a variety of recipe's and probably some tips, pointers, and various bits of wisdom and advice. If that's what you are looking for also, you may wish to pass on this book. There's two (maybe three) recipes for Fish & Chips in the entire book (and basic ones at that, probably the same as my Joy of Cooking). The remainder is a variety of seafood and side dishes...fish puffs, fishcakes, fillets, soup/stew/chowder, lobster, octopus, mussel, scampi, baked/grilled/fried/braised, etc, etc, etc...
That said (and pre-conceived expectations aside), if you are looking for an all around seafood cookbook (European flavor, from Russia to Portugal) this could be the book for you! The recipes appear fairly basic and not overly complex, lots of colorful and inspirational pictures, and a wide variety of seafood recipes (huge variety). A separate chapter for potato side dishes, and another chapter on 'Accompaniments'.
BTW, used the Fish & Chips recipe ... yummy!
