I have an unpostable Story of Ferdinand. Somebody colored on the first page, but it is readable. I will send it free with an order from my shelf. If you want it, PM me with what you ordered. |

thank you so much! I actually just picked up that one at goodwill the other day and when I got home I realized it is from volume 2 of fiar. I have briefly looked at homeschoolshare but I actually havent recieved my fiar "manual"s yet and I don't have all the corresponding books yet so I have not gone that far into planning. This will be my first year of homeschool with my 4 year old son and my 2 year old and 10 mo. (will be 1 this fall when I start) along for the ride so this should be interesting to see what does and doesn't work. I would also love advice from anyone willing to give it! thanks again |

HI Nicole, WE did FIAR when my 3 were your kids ages. I thought the kids might get bored reading the same book 4-5 times, me especially. But we didn't, I put a 2x2in sticky in the front of the book with the top 3-4 things I wanted to discuss or do. Putting the stickers on a laminated world map really helped us make comparisons and connections and just great memories. I didn't buy the stickers just printed the ones in the back of the book did a bit of color and taped both sides with clear packing tape, trimmed, and a rolled piece of tape to stick it. You know I've used the FIAR books again in later years to teach literary analysis. Do you have the option of using interlibrary loan? I bought what I could and then spread the library loan ones around. FIAR can go in any order. feel free to email jump5in at yahoo dot com I bet there's yahoo group and facebook goup too. Happy Row' ing, Melody |
