I ordered this from Amazon and I have a rule about finishing books that I pay full price for before I list them.  The problem is that I don't like any of the people so it's really hard. The language is beautiful, but the people, Dellarobia included, all sound like absolute white trash.  How did you get past this or is it just me and a personal problem. I've loved other books by her, especially The Poisonwood Bible.

I bought the LP.  Talk about expensive.  And in the end, I got it why Kingsolver wrote the main character that way.  It wasn't her best by far, but i am glad I read it to the end. 

I am trying not to give anything away.  Very interesting people start appearing in the book and it gets much better.  And all the characters in the beginning get better too.  The first three chapters are a little tough, I agree.
