The Earl of Wychfield was everything that Fancy mistrusted in a male. He was dazzlingly handsome, fabulously wealthy and superbly self-assured, with all that it took to win any woman he wanted. Fancy could only be happy that he could not possibly want her when the stunning Lady Celeste Standon made herself so very available to him. Because though Fancy told herself she was fully prepared to resist the advances of this man armed with so many weapons of attraction and snares of seduction, she trembled at what might happen should she be put to the test.....
This was not a bad story. It had a lot of fun moments. The main problem was the chemistry between the two lead characters. Fancy was a termagent and a harpy! At the same time we are led to believe that she has a heart of gold and wins everyone over.
Why? I was thoroughly disgusted with her behavior and stupidity in seeing the obvious most of the time. The fact that she nursed everyone back to health was not enough to render her likable.
The Earl of Wychfield, on the other hand, is everything you want in a hero and more. The secondary characters are interesting at times but nothing really special.
