I'm so excited!  This is my favorite time of the sports year, unless there is an Olympics going on.  New NFL season, baseball getting ready for the post-season (Go Sox! - that would be Red Sox)  :)  It is great!  Okay, I'll curb my enthusiasm for a minute and here are my picks:

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!   Tom Brady took a hit to the knee in the first quarter and is now having tests to determine what the problem is.  Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!    :(

At least Matt Cassel stepped up and we won the game.  :)

I went 8 and 8 (including the Thursday night game). Not so great, but several of those losses were picks based on not really having a good feeling yet for what shape a few teams (Detroit, San Fran, St. Louis, Atlanta for example) had come out of the off and preseasons in.

In case anyone is interested in discussing issues from Week 1 (Brady's knee, how awful the Bengals and Rams looked, should Colts fans be concerned about Peyton's performance, etc), I have set up another thread to do that between now and Melody's picks thread for Week 2.

Not at all trying to step on Melody's toes from the "picks" pov (and I'm assuming she will do the picks thread every week), I just thought some people may be interested in a weekly discussion type thread too.... though, considering the crickets and tumble weeds over there it does not appear people are interested in doing more than just making picks. LOL! :-)
