Great action sci-fi entertainment. Dietz adds plenty of political schemes and maneuvers without making the plot bulky and hard to follow. There are plenty of battles and crash landings to keep it exciting. Very well rounded. Also a quick read. Good stuff. Check out the whole series.

I love the Legion of the Damned series. Dietz does a good job on aliens- you can understand and sympathize sometimes with their motivations or their tragedies. He also does a good job of creating heroes and villains, with the inevitable self serving politicians or incompetent military leaders. Lots of action- space battles, hand to hand fighting, stealthy assassinations, and interesting relationships. Highly recommended to anyone interested in "soft" military science fiction.
