Are you sure you can't post them with the ISBNs that are listed on them? I thought you could enter the ISBN, and if it was a valid ISBN but the book details weren't in the database then it would give you a page to type all the info. If that page doesn't come up, then yes, you have to post them without ISBNs. If you post them with the wrong ISBN in order to offer them to a wish list, then you are running the risk that you won't be able to reach the other person before the deadlines pass. That said, if one of them happens to be on my WL, I would accept it. |

In those cases, aren't you given the option to manually add the book information using the correct ISBN? As a coincidence to your post, I got a British paperback travel book in today's mail - the hardcover and U.S. paperback editions are fine ( no wishlisters), but PBS doesn't recognize my U. K. paperback ISBN at all. I'd have to post it manually without ISBN, but I'll probably end up releasing it at a local swap shelf instead. Tempting (and logical) though it may be, do NOT knowingly post the wrong ISBN - it'll likely backfire on you when you were just trying to help. Maybe this will help, from the Help Center. I know you said that the ISBN was "recognized" but not in the database...but I still think you are allowed to follow these directions below.
Unfortunately, it is against PBS rules to post these books under an incorrect ISBN, so I wouldn't do that. You may want to contact R&R just to double check, but I think you can post these books as non-ISBN. Hope that helps.

As a WL'er I'd be more than happy with the scenario. If you're worried about going against the rules though, you could post them the "without ISBN" way and hope that the people who have them wish-listed will see the new postings or do another title search. Good luck with it, and it's cool of you to want to share them with others.

I agree--if it won't let you enter the data, post them without an ISBN, but then go over to the Book Bazaar forum and mention them in the thread for Wishlisted non-ISBN books. |

I am curioushow the copies are WLd without he ISBNs set up in the system? You should post them according to their accual ISBN numbers and enter the needed data. These people on the WL should receive an email that the book has been posted into the system. It may be that once you enter the info, it will tag it to the WLs anyway. Please don't enter books against sthe systm rules though. If everyone decides that their situation warrants posting against the rules, we'd have a mess. |
