Should I admit that I actually read The Pickpocket Countess?  And loved it?   It was one hot, hot historical romance and had a pretty decent plot for a Harlequin.

Cathy, you just pushed the kids' bedtime back by 30 minutes.  I'm sure they love you for that and the fact that I can't get the smirk off my face.

Thanks for that link, Cathy, because then it got me clicking to other posts and finding that Diana Gabaldon is a total moron shooting her mouth off about fanficcers. Now I'll definitely never read her stuff.

Too funny, Misfit! I ended up on the Gabaldon rant, too. Boy, she really hates fan fiction! Makes me feel like writing some. :-D

Well, Gabaldon had a fit of  "omg, wtf did I do?" and deleted her posts and all the comments, but the link above has screencaps of the originals. Authors Behaving Badly makes that mandatory. :D

Needless to say as a fanfic writer myself, I don't much care for being compared to white slavers and husband stealers. Methinks she needs to not think of Jamie in such "me! mine! you can't have!" terms.

And considering that she's admitted that she used a Doctor Who character called Jamie (played by Frazer Hines) as the basis for Jamie freakin' Fraser, she needs to take a look around at that little glass house she's living in.

She even let Sara Donati use her characters in her own books. In the fanfic world, we call that "crossover."

Idiot. But I guess the air is thinner up where she is. It's Earth Logic Fail on all levels.
