I printed out postage from paperbackswap and marked mailed as I went and put it in the mail box before I left for work. I get home this afternoon the book is still sitting in the box. I completely forgot about columbus day and that the mail is not running today. Can I mail this book tomorrow even though it has a mail date of today. I tried looking to see if I could change the date and reprint the wrapper but i cant Will my mailman still take it with the wrong date on it?
Thanks for anyhelp |

You have 2 days after marking it mailed to actually mail the book. The mail-man should take it with no problem with the wrong date on it, I don't know that they even look at it. Last Edited on: 10/12/09 3:52 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Actually, postal workers can be rather persnickity about the postage date. You can leave it and see what happens, or take it to the PO and they can re-date it with a 0.0 postage strip. Don't use printable postage, so I've no advice as to whether the system will change the date and reprint for you. Last Edited on: 10/12/09 11:41 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

It should be fine unless you come across a picky postal worker. I have put packages in the blue box on Sat or Sun with Sat postage on it and have had no problems when it didn't get picked up until Monday. |

Ditto what Mary said. I drop books in blue boxes all the time on holidays and weekends when there is no pick up from that blue box til a day or two later and never have had a problem. Cheryl |
