What would happen if you were gone for 6 months with no communication to those who you are close with? That was the big question that I came up with when thinking about this book. Emma endures the passing of her mom and ends up on an African trip that went from 1 month to 6 months due to illness, earthquake and adventure. When she gets back into the States, she has to deal with a world that moved on without her.
