All my forum post end up a one single paragraph no matter how it looks before I submit it. I am using Opera as my browser (please don't tell me I need Internet Explorer or Mozilla, because I love Opera too much to change). I also cannot cross out items if I edit the post later like I see in some members' posts. What am I doing wrong?

Hermine:

Not sure, but my guess is it would probably be your browser.  I've never even heard of Opera as a browser.  It may not be capatable with PBS.

Try double spacing your paragraphs. A while back I was having this issue and that's what I did. Hope that works for you.

I recently had the same problem and it appeared to be a browser problem When I was in Safari, I had your problem--eveything was all one paragraph. When I switched to Firefox, I got the formatting toolbar, which did not show up in Safari, and was able to do whatever I wanted.

Also, if you are pasting in, PBS doens't recognize hard returns always. But, I'd guess it to be Opera. Every since we got the new format, the forums have been a little touchier with regards to formatting. Before the only touchy issue was when you wanted something single space instead of double spaced.

Now, sometimes I find (even with IE & FF) that the paragraphs run-on or lists are terribly hard to do. For any type of listing you almost always have to use the bullet/numbered listing buttons, but for paragraphs, try holding your shift key when you hit your return, or as Leslie says, try adding double returns, instead of a single one.
