I own about a hundred former Library Books from the County Library where I live. The books are in great condition, but they have the "markings" of being in a public library. Are these books still proper to put on my bookshelf on this site? The books are intact with all the pages. Just a couple extra stickers from the library. Thanks Joe |

Former library books are completely fine. Post away! |

As an suggestion, I'd like to say before you quickly post all of them, you may want to look them up to if they're wish listed. Just enter the ISBN in the seach and when the book data pops up you'll see if there are folks waiting. You can put them on your reminder list so you don't have to re-enter the ISBN. Then you can see if there copies available or if they're WL. If it turns out you have many on WL you may want to post them in batches, so you can send them out in manageable numbers, as postage costs can become overwhelming for new members who find they have many highly wished for books. Otherwise if they're not WL when you post them they'll be on your shelf until someone requests them first in, first out (FIFO)' so if there are five copies yours would be the sixth. Welcome to PBS and feel free to ask any questions you think of. The members here are a great source of information and can provide tons of hints and ideas about posting and mailing books. |

Greetings Joe and welcome to PBS! While former library books meet the posting guidelines of this site, some members prefer not to receive them and create Requester Conditions (RCs) prohibiting them. If you receive a request with RCs against former library books, you should decline the request as your books won't meet the conditions. If you send a book that doesn't meet the requesting member's RCs, the recipient has every right to keep the book and request their credit be returned. Having shared that, many members are happy to receive a book they desire, regardless of whether or not it was previously in a library collection, so post your books and share the love! |
