I liked the twisty plot in this mystery. There was a while when I wasn't even sure who was going to be the victim; I felt someone in the house party had to end up dead but it took its time. I did not guess how that was going to end up. The last book was too history-centric for me, but this one is lighter. I found I wanted a little more information about the random graves found around the countryside and I enjoyed watching Lizzie track down what she could. I thought from the title we might learn more about the sharecropper issue, but it didn't make up a lot of the plot. And I didn't feel the migrant worker subplot was all that integral to the story, although it added to the betrayal theme. Lizzie's hesitations about marriage and insecurity about her relationship are in full flower, and it made me feel for her. Bailey makes you wonder if their relationship can work after all, and although that ended well, personally I am not sure I would ever forgive Quinn. Anyway - good pacing, good sense of place, interesting twists, mostly good dialogue. I heard Bailey was working on another in this series and if so, I'd read it.
