Has anyone read this book and liked it?  I have been working on it for a few months and I find it horrible.  I am determined to finish it, but I would love hear good reviews, so I will be motivated to finish.

Stacey,

I loved this book, but then I think Umberto Eco is genius. He isn't an easy before bedtime type of read, though. Have you read The Name of the Rose? That might ease you into Eco's writing.

I thought the same of it as you, Stacey!  I was determined not to let that book defeat me, so I plowed my way through it with a dictionary at my side.  I did not really find it enjoyable.

I also do not believe that more than a handful of people who bought it because it was a best-seller actually READ THE THING!

I will have to read this one again - if I can. I remember plowing my way through it, determined not to let it beat me. The main thing I remember is that I had to stop reading at the end because I was TERRIFIED. It must be well written because I so vividly remember being so scared about what was going on. It was late and I was home alone... those are my excuses!

I don't have good memories of it really!
