Have your house burn down.  Waaah!!!!

I'm a relatively new member, finally had about 50 books posted, I even offered a 2 for 1 so I can get rid of them.  Well I certainly got rid of them just not the way I expected.  I live in the Santa Barbara area. We were evacuated on Thursday night and received confirmation on Saturday that we lost the house.

Luckily I had 8 books ready to ship that I had forgot at my office (I shipped them on Friday, before it was too late). :)

We got out with most of our important papers, most photos, a couple of changes of clothes and the animals. We lost alot but have gained so much more.  Out comunity and friends are amazing.

We went and picked up our mail at the post office on Friday and I was so excited to see a Paperback Swap book label.  I mean really, really excited.  I guess I'll be reading a little slower now that we have so much to do but it's great ahving that one book, it's sort of a symbol to me.

Jenelle,

I'm so sorry that you lost your home. Thank God though that you and your family and pets are safe. What an awful thing to go through. I guess in times like  that you realize whats really important and having the love and support of family and friends will help you get through it. I will keep you in my prayers.  I sent you a PM

Oh Jenelle,

I'm so sorry about your home!  What a relief that you were able to get some of your important stuff out (most notably your pets and family!)

Sending good wishes and hopes that all goes smoothly in putting the pieces back together.

Lauren

You sound like you have a positive attitude about it all and that helps so much! Take care of yourself, keep looking forward, and if there are any books I can send along to you from my bookshelf, please pm me. Glad you're all okay!

I am so sorry for your loss. I am really glad you are okay though. Things can be replaced. People and animals can't.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes, prayers and fabulous offers (and buddy credit too).

Me and my family feel the good feelings that are being sent our way.

My homeschooled 10 year old has been loving the fact that he doesn't have school right now, kids are great!!!

Here's some pics for fun :)
