I have used guides from this site on a couple of our discussions but didn't pay too much attention to it until tonight. There is a a searchable data base of discussion guides and I'm going through them now to find out if any of the books have enough copies in the system to put on future lists. You don't have to pull your ideas from here but if you have trouble picking books to add to the list then you can check it out. http://www.readinggroupguides.com/findaguide/title.asp#t |

I like it when books have the readers discussion questions in the back. I read those and think about it. |

I like the one Heather found, that's my kind of questions. We should have time for them all, we always run out way before the month is up. Did you see on that page where it says the movie rights have been bought? It would probably be a good movie, they'd have to edit all the superfluous stuff out to fit it in 2 hours. The scenery would be excellent if they did it right. So I'm backwatds, I just checked Chris' link. That looks pretty good too, the questions were a little academic but not as bad as most of the ones printed in the books. Sometimes it's like the author is looking for validation of how good a writer they are, did they get across what they were trying to and did they show off their writing skill. I don't care much about writing skill and I don't care much about writer's egos. Last Edited on: 6/9/12 3:57 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I didn't even realize there were questions on that page, all I saw were recipes and things for live book clubs to do. As I said before any questions you all find that you want to ask on the off days between Question of the Day time is fine with me. |
