I read this while sick, so I'm sure that colored my perceptions. I find it kind of dull. Not dull as treebark, but more like a blunt sword.
Cool idea about the elves coming from another world and forgetting everything. The Dwellers were also a cool combo of hobbit/dwarf.
I think part of my problem was that there was so much left unexplained. Either because it would be revealed in later books or because the author didn't feel it necessary.
Hoping the next book works better for me!
