This is actually a collection of 4 short stories in one volume. It is enjoyable, although the plot is a little hard to follow at times. Still, I can recommend this book for any and all Stout/Nero Wolfe fans.

Four entertaining 'quick-reads' from Rex Stout. For those who love Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin, it's worth the time to enjoy being with them again in these pages. Go for it!!

Everyone knows Nero Wolfe, and if you do not, then you should. Rex Stout was part of the golden age of mystery and his Nero Wolfe series became a classic, that spawned movies and even a tv show. The well fed, humorless, authoritative, orchid-loving detective who lived in his NYC townhouse with his wisecracking assistant Archie Goodwin and his chef/factotum, is a fun read. Nero Wolfe seldom leaves his town house to solve crimes, although he does venture out in this collection of 4 short stories, and while Archie does the legwork, Nero Wolfe solves the crime every time, much like Sherlock Holmes or Hercule Poirot, through the power of his intellect. The stories read quickly and are addictive, if you like this kind of thing. Everyone should read at least one.

Nice quartet of stories, in an oldie edition, with 35-cent price on cover, and 1959-ish artwork. As I guess is always the case (?), the point of view in these stories is assistant Archie Goodwin.
