Fran Capo was born in Greenwich Village in New York City. She graduated from Queens College with a BA in Philosophy and Accounting.

Fran is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records (1989), Ripley's Believe it or Not! (2006) and the Book of Alternative Records (2006). She is currently listed in the Guinness World Records as the fastest-talking female, having broken the record twice. Capo set the current record on June 5, 1990 at the Guinness Museum in Las Vegas, speaking 603.32 words in 54.2 seconds. She first broke the record speaking 585 words-per-minute (wpm) on Larry King Live on March 5, 1986. Capo also holds a record for highest elevation for a book signing, as the only author to do a book-signing on top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, signing copies of her books Adrenaline Adventures and Almost a Wise Guy on July 10, 2004. She also holds the record for lowest elevation for a book signing, and the first to conduct a memorial prayer service at the wreck site of the RMS Titanic, performing both in a submersible July 10, 2005.

Capo has been on over 250 television shows and 1000 radio shows including Entertainment Tonight, Larry King Live, Last Call with Carson Daly, Good Morning America, Nick at Nite, Discovery Channel and the Martha Stewart Show. She has written for international magazines as well as for her own weekly blog called Fran's World. Capo is also appeared in FOXNews.com show Last Call w/Rick Leventhal on July 14, 2009.Fran has also been a spokesperson for many companies including Masterfoods, Auntie Anne's Pretzels, Authorhouse, and Ripley's Believe it or Not!.
