Congratulations! You've qualified for a Member Appreciation Book

FREE with 1 credit + $3.99 shipping! Or give it as a GIFT at no extra cost!

How can PBS call this a free book?  It costs a credit plus shipping.  That's not free.

Free might not be the right wording to use. However, these are brand new books not used. You are only paying 3.99 not full price for a book which can be between 8 and 30 dollars. Plus there are several MAB books  are wishlisted so you can post it and get your credit back. I received a MAB book and will be reading it soon and then posting it to get my credit back.  So it is a pretty good  deal compared to going to a bookstore.

In relation to the Market books that cost: $ + credit + shipping these are" free + credit + shipping. Its all relative. Kind of like swapping here for free. You have to pay for shipping so its not really "free", but you don't pay for the site.

I found that after the first "free for a credit" "plus postage, of course"  book, all the others ship for a dollar.  So I ordered a big bunch of books all together.  Many are wishlisted, so when I'm through I can post them.  I try to keep posting to clear off space on my bookcase, which seems to shrink all the time.blush

Yep, I think it's poorly worded.  It may be inexpensive, but if you have to throw in a credit PLUS shipping, it's not free.
