I keep seeing Member Appreciation Books and they all have the following message attached to them

Congratulations!
You can get this new
Member Appreciation Book for Free
with 1 Credit plus S&H

What is free about it if you are spending a credit and paying the S&H?

I agree, it's not free.  But, if it's a book you really want and there's a long WL for it, then it would be worth it to pay S&H.  I have taken a look at some of the MAB books and in one instance it was available to be ordered from PBS for just a credit.  So, if you see something you like, check to make sure it's not available from PBS.

You can check off a box to show only WL books when you look at the MAB.  Some only have a few on WL for them but some have over 50 wishers.  A credit plus S&H may be cheaper than you can buy the book used for those.

I only buy WL books from the MAB list.  Just bought 3, 2 for me and one for my brother.  The 2 I bought for myself had WL over 50 people long.

When I have a surplus of credits, why not?  Especially since I know I can turn around and get my credit right back.

Since I never access PBS through my "Home" page, choosing to go directly to my "Main" page, I've never seen MAB before today. I do have a question... Is there any easy way to see if there is a MAB that's on MY OWN WL? I've seen that I can filter MABs so only WL'ed books show up. And, I know that I can sort my WL so that PBS Market books appear at the top of the list, but either none of those books are MAB *or* there's no MAB icon or button on that listing.

Ed--One of the books on my Wish List is a "MAB".  The "MAB" icon appears on the right side of the list--right next to the "Buy it Now" and "Buy from Amazon" icons.

Laura: Okay... if an icon appears on WL'ed books that are MAB, then none of mine must be MAB at this time. Oh, well...

Do the books chosen as "MAB" change daily? ...weekly? ...monthly?

There are hundreds of them. They add new ones periodically, but I thinkthat once they're offered as a MAB they stay there.

I think what's offered is based on supply.

If you sort your WL by availability, it'll put all you WL books that are in the marketplace on top.  That's what I did when I wanted to use up some credits.

I wish I could use 2 credits on a MAB rather than a credit and cash.
