I had read "Hannah's Dream," a couple months back and enjoyed it, so was glad to learn that there was a second book in the series. The story starts about three years after "Hannah's Dream" ends. Some of the same characters carry over from "Hannah's Dream." Some relationships had developed in the interim but initially there was no explanation as to how those came about. However, they were explained as "Friday's Harbor" unfolded. Some readers (Amazon) of this book have said it started slowly or they found their interest waning when some of the whale's care was explained. I didn't find that the case. Another reviewer said the ending was predictable. For me, it wasn't. I don't want to give anything away but I was expecting a very different ending than what was written. However, I liked the actual ending better than what I thought was going to happen. I plan to read other books the author has written. I hope she will write a third book in this series. The characters have become friends.
