What happened to car chief Lexie Mercer's star driver? Kane Jackson used to be an untamed force. A winner. Now he's calm, composed--and apathetic. She can't even pick a fight with him anymore! What's worse, his lackluster mood is affecting his racing.

Then Kane does the unthinkable. He kisses Lexie, giving in to months of pent-up desire. How could this happen? Lexie is bossy, brainy...and exactly they woman to ignite his lost passion for winning.

But Lexie knows Kane's got to stay focused on racing, despite his insistence that one night together will get her out of his system...and into Victory Lane.

It won't work. It can't work. Can it?

Lexie Mercer broke up with her boyfriend twelve years ago after realizing she would always be second in his life, racing would always be first. Now shes not only a car chief working along side her dad who is crew chief, but shes working for that ex-boyfriend. And hes wanting to rekindle the flame from their earlier years.

Kane Jackson never felt like he measured up. He hadnt been good enough for Lexie all those years ago and he could never get close to pleasing his father. His very famous father who is still as popular now as he was when he played football.

Kanes team is depending on him for a win or they may all lose their jobs. Either they got in the chase or jobs would be lost. Now is not the best time for his mind to be off track. Another exciting story in the racing world with fast moves on and off the track.
