I know it isn't quite end of year, but it is close enough that I wanted to share my Goodreads stats: 2011 Stats Books read for the year: 264 New To Me authors: 39 Books I Reviewed: 161 E-Books: 20 Romance Contemporary: 80 Romance Historical: 93 Romance Urban Fantasy: 30 Suspense: 61
2012 Goal: 275 NTM authors: 25 Series and/or authors I want to catch up with: Gaelen Foley’s Knights of Miscellany series (4), John Lescroart’s Dismas Hardy (5), Brad Thor’s Scot Harvath (5), Carl Hiaasen (4). Loretta Chase (4), Marsha Canham (10)….not sure if this is doable in one year, as each one of her books are in epic format with small print. For now that will do. What were some of your stats for your year or what are some of your goals for 2012? |

I don't typically do a breakdown quite that detailed...I have read 210 books so far with 3 more that I will most likely finish by the end of the year. The only other thing I usually do keep track of are the number of DNF's, as it tells me how adept I am at choosing books I know I will like. That has gotten better over the years--only 6 this year. I don't keep track of genres or formats as a rule. I don't have a goal for how many books I read, I just read when I want to and let the chips fall where they may. In the past few years, I've read as many as 260 and as few as 190--it really depends on what else is going on in my life. For 2011, my one resolution was not to purchase any books for money from any source or in any format, and I have met that goal...only 3 days to go and I KNOW I can do it, because I don't have any money to spend even if I were hellbent on not completing it. LOL Next year, my one book goal is to read more classic literature...I'm hoping to read one classic per month. I discovered a bunch of them on my TBR stacks when I've been doing my culling and decided to hang on to them and actually read them. I've become quite a lightweight reader in recent years, reading a lot of quick series mysteries and fluff rather than some good old thought-provoking literature. Time to give my brain a workout!
