This is a World of Knowledge book with hundreds of vivid COLOR photos. Some of the photos are from De Beers, from Gemnological Institute of America, some from the Prado Museum in Madrid, some from Universal Diamond Industries.
Covers the history of gems and gem trading, the physical properties and qualities of gems, something of the marketing procedures. There is an explanation of gem cutting. The major attraction of the book is the collection of stunning photos, both of natural stones, cut stones, and assembled jewelry pieces.
