This book is a revelation about all of the women who were in Clark Gable's life. From his doting stepmother, his early marriages to older women who could help him in his career as an actor, the one love of his life Carole Lombard, his lifelong affair/friendship with Joan Crawford and his last wife Kay who gave him a son born after his death. Includes fantastic early photos that are rarely seen. An unforgetable read.

Gives more insight into other women not reported in other books. Best part is detailing what movies he was doing at time of marriages, how this affected his marriages and if and how the movie at that time co-star was in an affair with him. Also interesting was what was happening at the era in which the films were made. We heard so much about the studio contract actors but little about the stage actors and silent stars and how television affected all this. Clark Gable lived and acted and all these mediums and eras and we do too in this book, both in the USA and Europe. Both the good and bad, and the small mindedness of those times, even thinking it was Patriotism. Great read.
